About us
1886 was a great year, Coca Cola, Arsenal FC, Cheltenham Town FC were all founded, and The Famous opened our doors to the public.
The Famous of Cheltenham was established by a tailor who presented himself as 'the Famous Tailor from London' and when, in 1896, Mr A N Cole purchased the business he kept The Famous name.
Trading from the same high street premises ever since, we've been looking after the gentlemen of Cheltenham and surrounding counties ever since – and the store is still owned and run by Mr Cole's descendants.
Our name has become synonymous with service, quality and choice and we have heard stories from far off locations of our clothes being worn in any circumstances.
