It's been over 150 years since William Bill started offering tweeds and woollen blankets from his little shop in Mold, North Wales.

Over the many years W Bill became famous for its wide and varied collection of tweeds and cashmeres, helping to cement its reputation as one of the world's premier cloth merchants.

And so we are delighted to be opening a new chapter in the company's history, introducing new contemporary qualities alongside the classic Scottish Tweeds to a new and highly engaged generation.

The Brook Taverner story started in 1912 with Frank Brook and Walter Taverner on a boat to Calcutta. Their first business venture was selling buttons to tailors, but soon linings and then cloth were added to the range. It was cloth which propelled the business forward, and despite tricky times in between the two wars, one of the largest stock supported fabric ranges in the country was built up concentrating entirely on the menswear.

In 1881 Mr Bateman and Mr Ogden came together to establish a brand new textile business in Bradford – the heart of the UK textile industry.

Today we supply high-quality fabrics to tailors across every continent; delivering an elegant range, a wide choice of fabrics and excellent customer service to our discerning customers.
